Sarah graduated from Endeavour College of Natural Health, Brisbane with a Bachelor of Health Science in Myotherapy in 2015. Additionally, she has completed a Cert IV in Matwork Pilates 2013 and Diploma in Studio and Rehabilitation Pilates in 2017 with Polestar Pilates. In 2018, Sarah is sharing her love of Pilates by taking on a mentor role with Polestar Pilates to encourage and guide new Pilates teachers in their learning, movement and teaching journey.
Sarah is passionate about movement benefiting all aspects of our lives as humans and is a strong advocate of using Pilates to rehabilitate from injury, as a form injury prevention and cross-training for other sports, to improve form, balance, posture, joint mobility and stability. In addition, Sarah believes that when practised mindfully, Pilates is meditation in motion, it drops us into the present and allows us to bring greater awareness and connection to our mind, breath, body and spirit.
As a Myotherapist, Sarah will carry out a thorough physical evaluation and apply an integrated approach to treating affected muscles, joints, connective tissue and nerves. Standard assessment methods such as neurological and functional tests are used to hone in on the cause of the issue and a suite of treatment tools are used to aid in the improvement and recovery of your condition. Sarah takes a holistic approach to healing and avoiding re-occurrence, working with clients to establish a treatment and rehabilitation plan involving hands-on therapy, exercises and stretching. She is skilled and experienced in joint mobilisation, neurodynamic techniques, stretching and soft tissue techniques such as dry needling and electro-dry needling, deep tissue massage, myofascial techniques including cupping and trigger point therapy.
Feeling strong, able and mindfully connected to the body through movement is a joy and passion that Sarah aims to share with others through her private session, Studio Pilates
and Express Reformer
classes at the Body Refinery studio and through her online classes.
